About the Role
As the Warehouse Team Leader, you will lead and guide a team through the day-to-day activities of a busy warehouse environment. You’ll be responsible for driving operational performance, supporting staff, ensuring safety standards are upheld, and maintaining the smooth flow of receiving, storing, dispatching, and handling returned or damaged goods.
This role is perfect for someone with strong communication, leadership qualities, and hands-on warehousing experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, handling returns, maintenance, and admin tasks.
- Communicate daily priorities, operational updates, and expectations to the team.
- Step in and perform Supervisor duties when required to ensure business continuity.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Produce accurate, timely operational reports.
- Ensure warehouse equipment is safely used and maintained; report any faults promptly.
- Manage team performance, providing coaching, support, and direction.
- Deliver training on warehouse processes and procedures.
- Support the growth and development of team members and handle performance issues in collaboration with HR and Management.
- Ensure compliance with Food Safety, GDP standards, and all company policies and procedures.
- Lead by example in workplace health & safety, ensuring hazards are identified and controlled.
- Undertake additional duties as required.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience in a fast-paced warehousing environment.
- Valid Forklift Licence with RT & VOP endorsements.
- Previous leadership or co-ordination experience in 3PL or FMCG (highly preferred).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Technical Ability
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience using RF scanning and WMS systems.
- Exposure to TMS and SAP (preferred).
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.
