As a People & Talent Business Partner you will be a trusted generalist, who supports and upholds our company values, policies, and procedures. Reporting into the Head of People & Talent you will play a key role in the effective operation of the People & Talent team by providing coaching, support and expert generalist people advice to managers and employees.  Our people are our business, so the ability to relate to diverse people at a variety of levels is imperative.

The successful candidate will:

  • Partner with the Head of People and Talent to implement people strategy
  • Partner with the business to provide expert generalist people advice and guidance
  • Coach all Managers to follow best people practices and NZ legislation
  • Work with managers on performance management and disciplinary issues
  • Generate documentation for performance and disciplinary issues
  • Keep the Head of People & Talent informed of all ER issues, seeking advise if needed
  • Actively work with managers to drive engagement across the businesses by encouraging use and review of the engagement tools
  • Drive action plans with managers from engagement survey feedback
  • Assist with People & Talent reporting
  • Recommend updates to Employment Agreements, HR documentation and HR templates
  • Work with managers to ensure all new employees have a great onboarding experience

Ideally you will:

  • Have a relevant tertiary qualification
  • Have a minimum of 5 years relevant People & Talent experience with an in depth understanding of NZ Employment legislation
  • Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written
  • Strong problem solving, influencing, and negotiating skills
  • Hunger, passion, and drive to get the job done, with a 'never give up' attitude
  • Be self-motivated and self-aware with a positive outlook and clear focus on high quality work
  • Work well under pressure in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Possess the ability to think laterally and problem solve
  • Excel in building strong working relationships at all levels
  • Strive to guide, mentor and drive team members to success
