About the role:
We are looking for an experienced Transport Operations Lead to take ownership of the transport operations while driving performance. In this fast paced, you will lead a dedicated team and play key part in shaping the success of our transport operations. Being a clear communicator with solid problem solving skills and a solutions focused mindset will make you highly successul. This is a key role in making sure that workflows are running smoothly, and ensure safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction remain top priorities. Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday, 5pm – 3am (finishing 3am Saturday morning)
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and support the outbound team to achieve 98% DOT
- Oversee daily outbound activities, from ensuring outbound pallets are QC to making sure trucks are loaded & unloaded in a safe but efficient manner
- Work closely with the dispatch team to plan on time transfers and direct deliveries
- Maintain strong communication with internal teams and external transport partners
- Use systems and dashboards to track performance and drive improvements
- Champion a strong safety culture with full H&S and PPE compliance
What you bring:
- Minimum 5 years’ people leadership experience in logistics and warehousing
- A current forklift license and a minimum of 5 years' experience in loading/offloading trucks
- Geographical understanding NZ with a good understanding of Auckland metro & regional linehaul runs
- Knowledge of mezzanine floors (set up)
- Experience with transport management systems and scanners (Navare an advantage)
- High outbound standards for successful acceptance of freight
- A good understanding of WMS systems beneficial
- Knowledge of Dangerous Goods and compliance requirements
